Description
Hey! My name is Grady, and I cover country music (and folk/Americana/country-pop/whatever you call it) on this channel because I love it, and not many people were showing country any love on YouTube. I've written for Entertainment Weekly, The Guardian, Taste of Country, and Rolling Stone, but lately, it's way more fun to just cut loose and talk on YouTube. I try to speak HONESTLY, not just react melodramatically for the camera. I hope you enjoy!

About the Host
Host Name: Grady Smith
Host Residence Country: United States
Since 2017, I have built my own country music YouTube channel that now has 205,000 subscribers and over 36 million views. I review modern and classic country music, make lists and countdowns, and synthesize trends in "explainer" videos about the genre. This became my full-time venture in 2019.
Previously, I worked as a writer at Entertainment Weekly from 2011 to 2014 and wrote about movies and music. I wrote feature length stories and over 1,000 blog entries, and I worked red carpets and award shows alike. I also hosted a weekly radio show on EW's Sirius XM channel and appeared on TV shows including CBS: This Morning, Inside Edition, The Today Show, and The Insider. I also hosted a show called The List for the cable network Epix.
From 2014-2016, I wrote a column for The Guardian called 'Grady Smith on Country', which covered everything from the sonic devolution of country radio to Nashville's ill-fated relationship with the Confederate flag. The column helped grow the Guardian's U.S. audience and earned me praise as one of the "most influential" writers in country music from the Tennesseean.
