Not Even Mad
Approaching the news from distinctly different points on the political spectrum, co-hosts Mike Pesca, Virginia Heffernan, and Jamie Kirchick attempt to change each other’s minds on the most important stories of the day. Often unsuccessfully. Between the non-stop election cycle and torrents of cancellations (real or imagined), there is a ton to argue about. But don’t worry. In the end, they’re NOT EVEN MAD
My History Can Beat Up Your Politics
My History Can Beat Up Your Politics, routinely podcasting since 2006, is a podcast that uses history to better understand the politics of today. History is books, journals, films, old letters, buttons and slogans, sometimes photos and cartoons. They can speak to us in ways that current commentators are too invested to do. It doesn’t always work, but sometimes it works very well. We do a mix of episodes – great stories of politics and history, explanations of political concepts, interviews with authors who can talk politics and history, and Q&A.
Best of the Left
Established in 2006, Best of the Left is a 2-time Podcast Award-winning show. We are regularly featured on the front page of Apple Podcasts under the "Political Favorites" banner. The program is a beautifully executed curation of progressive political news, commentary and occasional comedy with great music to pull it all together. All ad buys come with a direct link to your product or service in the show notes of the episode to display on listening devices while the episode is playing. This show is marked as containing explicit content to cover the bases but this only refers to very occasional profanity and essentially no content that would be deemed inappropriate or offensive to a general audience. The majority of episodes don't even contain profanity.
The Unspeakable with Meghan Daum
Remember “good conversation?” Remember what it was like to speak freely, to talk about complicated and sometimes controversial subjects with people who wouldn’t twist your words or insist that certain topics are off-limits? Remember when healthy disagreement was considered not threatening or unsafe but actually healthy? Author, essayist and journalist Meghan Daum has spent decades giving voice—and bringing nuance, humor and surprising perspectives—to things that lots of people are thinking but are afraid to say out loud. Now, she brings her observations to the realm of conversation. In candid, free-ranging interviews, Meghan talks with artists, entertainers, journalists, scientists, scholars, and anyone else who’s willing to do the “unspeakable” and question prevailing cultural and moral assumptions.
