About the Host
Rehana Absar is the Senior Associate, Knowledge Leadership, and Innovation at the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities. In this role, she contributes to content and program development of learning opportunities for the Center on Leadership to support the Alliance’s national network of over 500 nonprofit human-serving organizations. Rehana completed her Master of Public Policy degree at American University in Washington, DC, where she concentrated in policy analysis and nonprofit management. In DC, Rehana served as a Graduate Public Policy Fellow at the Council of Women World Leaders, where she conducted research and assisted in developing strategies to engage the Council’s network of women and community leaders to Council programs and events.
Undraye Howard is vice president of the Center on Leadership at the Alliance for Strong Families and Communities. He also is an adjunct professor at several universities, where he teaches courses on youth, work development, leadership, communication practices and processes, and effectiveness in the human services world. Howard holds master’s in communication with an emphasis in training and development from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is currently pursuing his doctoral degree.
Gerald McFadden has served in multiple leadership roles during his 22 year tenure with Volunteers of America serving as the President/CEO for Volunteers of America, Southwest since 1998. As CEO, Gerald provides strategic and executive leadership to the organization. Gerald has been a commissioned minister with the organization since 1984 and has served on the National Board of Directors since 1999. He holds an MBA and a Master’s inUrban and Regional Planning from Pepperdine University.
Linda Shoob brings twenty five years of experience working in the field of leadership development, teambuilding and strategic planning. Linda is recognized for her efforts in assisting clients to develop systems that increase the overall effectiveness of the organization and improve performance and productivity. She works with executive teams to enhance their strategic alignment and assists them in clarifying mission, vision, values, roles, goals, processes and infrastructures.
Dr. Sheryl White, a cultural psychologist, brings over 20 years of experience providing leadership, workforce, and organization development consulting, training, and coaching services to municipalities, nonprofits, educational institutions, and for-profit corporations worldwide. Dr. White, the Vice President of Training and Organization Development at Neighborhood House Association (NHA) in San Diego, CA and is also the founder of NHA’s social enterprise, InnoVisions, which provides professional, leadership, and organization development services to other organizations. Since 1999, Dr. White has served as an executive coach and facilitator with the Center for Creative Leadership. Dr. White is passionate about helping people work better, and better together.
Tom Woll is a national consultant who currently is assisting child-serving agencies in Ohio, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Iowa, New York, Maryland, Arizona, Nebraska and Illinois in identifying and responding to strategic change challenges. He is the facilitator of The Strategic Change Initiative. Woll’s projections and principles are based on 43 years of experience in the field and more than 2,000 interviews with public sector leaders, private agency executives, service leaders, and key stakeholders.
